Welcome
to High School Bukit Mertajam Alumni Malaysia website.
High
School Bukit Mertajam is one of the oldest schools in Malaysia.
First opened on 18th January 1927 to some 300 students, the school
has thrived to produce many high achievers and notable national
figures including our beloved Prime Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Abdullah
b. Hj. Ahmad Badawi.
This
website is organized and maintained by the HSBM Alumni Malaysia headquartered
in Kuala Lumpur.
We
hope that you'll find useful information about the Alumni, and
at the same time feel a sense of nostalgia as you browse through
its pages.
They say Diamonds are forever. Likewise
the school is also for ever. It is very much part of you and you are
very much part of the school. The persons next in importance to parents
are Teachers and they have a great deal to do with moulding a child's
most impressionable and formative years.
Our
Alma Mater has done a tremendous job in this regard. It has served
the Country and the Community well and continues to do so.
The least we as Alumni can do generally, is to show our affection
and appreciation to the school for all that it has done for us
and all that it stands for.
We're
particularly honoured to have in our midst our most distinguished
alumnus, YAB Dato Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi, Prime Minister
of Malaysia, who inspite his busy schedule of pressing engagements
for the Nation has found time to be our patron. We
deeply
appreciate this gesture, which will serve as an additional inducement
and impetus to us do to more for the school in future.
